Summer is officially here, and that means it's time to celebrate Happy 250th Birthday to America—and embrace all the great outdoor adventures the season brings. Whether you’re gearing up for a motorcycle ride, launching your boat on sparkling lakes, exploring trails on your ATV, firing up the grill at a campsite, or spending the day by the pool, summer fun is better when you’re prepared.

Summer prep: a few quick checks go a long way

Before you head out, take a moment to help keep your vehicles and gear in top shape:

  • Motorcycles & ATVs: check tires, brakes, fluid levels, lights, and any spring wear

  • Boats: inspect maintenance needs and confirm safety gear is ready for the season

  • Camping trailers: review tire condition, brakes, hitch hardware, and that essential gear is packed

  • Pool time: confirm filters are working and pool chemicals are handled safely

Heat & pool safety tips (so everyone can enjoy the fun)

High temperatures and pool days are great—but they come with real safety considerations. Keep these tips in mind:

  • Hydrate often: Drink water regularly, and take breaks in the shade—especially during peak sun/heat.

  • Watch for heat illness: Know the signs of heat exhaustion/heat stroke (dizziness, nausea, headache, heavy sweating or no sweating, confusion). Seek help right away if symptoms appear.

  • Use sunscreen correctly: Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen, reapply as directed (especially after swimming or sweating).

  • Never leave children unattended: Even for a moment. Assign a responsible adult “water watcher.”

  • Practice safe entry and supervision: Keep walkways clear, avoid running, and ensure children use appropriate flotation devices.

  • Wear life jackets: Use U.S. Coast Guard–approved life jackets when boating, and consider them for pool areas when appropriate—especially for kids and non-swimmers.

  • Check pool areas for hazards: Ensure ladders/steps are secure, keep gates locked, and store chemicals out of children’s reach.

  • Remember pool “rules” matter: Establish them early—no diving where it’s not safe, no pushing, and follow depth signage.

Here to help you protect what matters

At our agency, we don’t just provide insurance—we’re proud to be part of this community and support our neighbors as they enjoy everything the Capital District has to offer. We can help you review coverage for your motorcycle, boat, ATV, camping trailer, and more, and identify any gaps that could leave you vulnerable.

Friendly, local support—built around you

Our family-friendly office is dedicated to making insurance reviews relaxed and easy. With biannual reviews, we take the time to understand your unique needs and help make sure your policies grow with you. And remember—all quotes and reviews are free, whether you’re looking for life insurance, home, vehicle, or specialty coverage (like jewelry or pet insurance).

We’re also proud to give back—from local events and food pantry donations to YMCA programs and thoughtful support for frontline workers. You’ll often find us around the 12203, 12084, and 12009 zip codes—stop by and say hello!

This year, we will also be at the Guilderland Farmer's Market, so stop by for some goodies, and support other local business that will be there with us!

Choosing a local agency means you’re getting personalized guidance and helping support our community efforts. Thank you for trusting us with your insurance needs.

If you have questions—or want to review coverage for your summer adventures—we’re here to help. Let’s make this summer your safest and most enjoyable season yet.

We pride ourselves on our kid and pet friendly office environment. Insurance can be fun! My team and I strive to help our community understand the insurance that they have, and uncover any gaps that may need to be addressed. Through biannual reviews we truly get to know them and their needs!

Brittany Conti has been with me since 2018. She is quick to respond, and keeps us organized. Her focus is auto, life and home insurance. She loves to get to know the customers well in order to make sure their policies fit their needs. Brittany makes sure that she knows what is important to them, and that we take care of those things first! Each customer is different, and their needs and goals are different as well! Brittany recently welcomed her first child and has thrived as a mother. Lets face it, to those of us that know her, she has always been a mother figure!

Maci Ashmun joined the team in November of 2020. She recently moved to Connecticut, and is one of my "remote" employees. Though she isn't in office, she is able to assist our customers with all of their needs. Being a licensed representative she can help with the purchase of a new auto, home or renters policy, and is quickly becoming a master of the recreational vehicle policy! While working from home, she also cares for her two beautiful children, her husband and dog. We miss seeing them in office each day, but are so grateful that she has decided to stay on and help service our customers.

Colleen Mahoney has worked with me since opening day (and a little before!) She has been here for all the good, and the bad! Her wealth of knowledge and experience is evident in every conversation she has. She focuses on educating customers on the importance life insurance and health insurance, and how that area of insurance is so necessary to protecting your family's financial well-being. She knows the importance as she is currently building her family! If you haven't already, get on her calendar for this important discussion, before she leaves for maternity leave to welcome her second baby boy in November!

Whether it is purchasing a new home, refinancing a car, getting married, having a baby, or retiring, call us when these big life events happen! My team and I are here to help!
